The BikeBus Explorer

This novel service is perfect for sampling the pubs along the A603 corridor west of Cambridge. Leaving Cambridge Rail station four times a day on Sundays and bank holidays only, the BikeBus Explorer services will tow a 20 cycle bike trailer (a bicycle is not required to use the service!) and make its way across the Fen Causeway and out of Cambridge via Barton Road. It will tour Barton, Orwell, Wimpole Estate, Wimpole, Arrington, Croydon, The Hatleys, Gamlingay, Waresley, Great Gransden, Little Gransden, Longstowe, and meet up with the outward route at Arrington. It will travel within easy striking distance of the Eversdens and Bourn, offering further choices for drinking and dining.

We will be offering a route map and smaller route guides centred on each village, with suggestions for walking, cycling and places of interest. Among them will be the following pubs:

The route (which is in essence circular) will be split between Explorer A (taking the Cambridge - Croydon - Gamlingay route) and Explorer B (taking the Cambridge - Longstowe - Gamlingay route), the timetable can be downloaded - BikeBus Explorer Timetable.

Fare information - an adult can get on and off any BikeBus Explorer Bus all day for £5, with bike carriage an additional £2. All child fares are half price; single journey tickets are also available starting from £2.20, although bike carriage is a flat rate. Will also have a family ticket priced at £12, bikes extra.
